Social and Solidarity Economy
The Social and Solidarity Economy (ESS - Économie Sociale et Solidaire) Platform of FEDAS Luxembourg brings together stakeholders committed to developing a sector that creates solutions for the social and professional integration of people who are distant from the labor market.
It supports projects with high social and environmental value, meeting unmet needs and contributing to the public interest and to local, regional, and national sustainable development.
These initiatives, carried out in partnership with public and private stakeholders, place job seekers at the center of the system through a structured pathway: social stabilization, skills acquisition, professional immersion, and access to sustainable employment.
The social and solidarity economy brings together cooperatives, associations, foundations, and CIGL/CIGR organizations that are politically and religiously neutral and work to improve people's quality of life and independence. It is an essential pillar of the national economy, promoting inclusive and responsible growth.

Senior
The Senior Platform mainly brought together all the managers of Aktiv Plus Clubs as well as other players in the sector such as the non-profit organization GERO. Its objectives were prevention, the promotion of cultural and leisure activities, social participation and inclusion, lifelong learning, the transition from working life to retirement, the fight against exclusion, digital equity, access to healthcare, improving quality of life, and many other issues. Although the platform has not been active this year, FEDAS Luxembourg has helped to raise awareness and promote this sector.
For more than 25 years, Club Aktiv Plus has been offering a wide range of activities and events specially designed for people who want to stay active as they approach or reach retirement age. The focus is on social gatherings, a variety of classes, exercise, intergenerational and intercultural exchange, and promoting social participation. Club Aktiv Plus is an initiative of the Ministry of Family, Solidarity, Living Together and Reception and is supported by local authorities. At the operational level, a project manager attached to “GERO - Kompetenzzenter fir den Alter” is responsible for coordinating Club Aktiv Plus, hence the interest of FEDAS in ensuring good collaboration.
